For our independent work, we tried to develop our initial thumbnails by going digital. This allows us to compare the different "flavours" that each media gives and also finding the style that best conveys our idea. For my first concept I decided to use Illustrator to create simple vector shapes. I find that this program produces nice clean shapes that may benefit us if we were going for a more graphical approach.
Using a familiar logo that is easily recognised by most people and incorporating the idea of fair-trade with the use of imagery: farmer. Although some images are replaced, it can still be recognised because of its colours and shape.
Decided to play with collage using mix media - photomontage (cup, farmer) and drawing (spoon). The concept shows the life of the farmer - hard labour vs our life - relaxed.
